Nature Shire Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

1. Who we are

Nature Shire is operated by Canuck Global Marketplace Limited, a company of British Columbia, Canada (“Nature Shire”, “we”, “us” or “our”). We run the business-to-business platform at www.natureshire.com (the “Platform”), which connects food and beverage producers (“Sellers”) with approved business buyers (“Buyers”) and handles export sales between them.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit the Platform, register an account, or trade through it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

The Platform is for businesses. Most of the information we handle is business information, but it includes personal information about the people who work for those businesses, such as names, work email addresses and phone numbers.

2. Information we collect

Account and business information. When you register we collect your name, email address, phone number, password (stored in encrypted form), company name, business address, website, business registration and licence details, warehouse or delivery address, point-of-contact details, and the categories you trade in. If you add child users, we collect their names, email addresses and roles.

Product information (Sellers). Product details, prices, packaging and pallet data, images, labels, certificates and compliance documents you upload. These are business records, but they may contain names or signatures of individuals.

Order and payment information. Orders, invoices, delivery addresses, required export documents, and the bank wire details you give us when you pay or are paid, such as sender bank name, account title, IBAN or account number, transfer date, reference number and a copy of the transfer receipt. We do not collect or store payment card numbers.

Communications. Messages, contact-form enquiries, emails and phone calls with Nature Shire, and notes our team makes about your account.

Technical information. IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and the date and time of your visits, collected through server logs and cookies (section 8).

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • review registrations and confirm that a business is genuine and eligible to trade;
  • create and run your account, including child users and the permissions you set;
  • list Sellers’ products and show them to approved Buyers;
  • verify orders, issue invoices, confirm payments, arrange export documents, shipping and delivery, and pay Sellers;
  • contact you about your account, orders, products and changes to our terms;
  • send news and offers about Nature Shire, where you have agreed to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • keep the Platform secure, prevent fraud and misuse, and enforce our Seller and Buyer Terms and Conditions;
  • meet our legal, tax, customs, export-control and sanctions-screening obligations; and
  • understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it.

We use personal information only for these purposes, or for other purposes we explain to you when we collect it, unless the law allows or requires otherwise.

By registering an account or providing information to us, you consent to our handling of it as described in this policy. Where you provide information about other people, such as colleagues you add as child users or contacts named in documents, you confirm that you have their permission to do so.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us (section 11), subject to legal and contractual limits. If you withdraw consent to information we need to run your account or complete an order, we may be unable to continue providing the service.

5. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • With the other party to an order, as needed to complete it. Buyers and Sellers deal with each other through Nature Shire. We share only what the other party needs to fulfil an order, such as product and shipping details. We do not give Buyers a Seller’s direct contact details, or Sellers a Buyer’s direct contact details, except where needed to complete delivery or required by law.
  • With service providers who work for us, such as web hosting, email delivery, document storage, and IT support. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
  • With logistics and trade partners, such as freight forwarders, shipping lines, customs brokers, inspection and certification bodies, insurers, and banks, as needed to ship goods, clear customs and process payments.
  • With professional advisers, such as lawyers, accountants and auditors, under a duty of confidentiality.
  • With authorities, when the law requires it, for example customs, tax, food-safety or law-enforcement authorities, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, financing or sale of all or part of our business, under appropriate confidentiality protections.

6. Storage and transfers outside Canada

Our Platform and some of our service providers store or process information outside British Columbia and outside Canada, including in the United States and other countries. Because Nature Shire facilitates international trade, order and shipping information is also sent to the countries involved in each shipment. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of those countries and may be accessible to their authorities.

7. Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in section 3 and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Order, invoice and payment records are generally kept for at least seven years after the end of the financial year they relate to. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

We use reasonable physical, organisational and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft and unauthorised access, use or disclosure, including encrypted connections, encrypted password storage, access limited to staff who need it, and role-based permissions. No system is completely secure, so please keep your login details private and tell us immediately at info@natureshire.com if you think your account has been compromised.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are needed to keep you logged in, remember your settings and keep the Platform secure. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings; if you block essential cookies, parts of the Platform may not work.

9. Your rights

Subject to the law, you may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use and share it;
  • give you access to that information;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete; and
  • withdraw your consent, or stop sending you marketing messages.

You can update most account and business information yourself in your profile. For other requests, contact us (section 11). We will respond within 30 days, or tell you if we need more time as the law allows. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Children

The Platform is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 19. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Contact us

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Platform with a new “Last updated” date, and where the changes are significant we will notify registered users by email or through the Platform before they take effect.
